At Biortus, we mainly utilize three widely used expression host systems, bacteria, insect cells, and mammalian cells, for recombinant protein expression. We continue to develop new techniques, such as new affinity tags, new expression systems and membrane protein purification methods for a better protein production.   

Compound screening against a drug target is a vital step in early stage drug discovery. Biortus has an extensive collection of testing equipment that allows us develop of many kinds of biochemical assays,   biophysical assays, and cell-based assays, for hit identification to lead generation. 

 Biortus provides X-ray based high resolution crystal structures for Epitope Mapping, protein engineering, and structure-based or  fragment-based drug discovery. With the in-house instruments and access to Synchrotron data collection facilities worldwide, we can provide fast turnaround and high-throughput crystal screening and high-resolution data collection. 

Our cryo-EM team has a combined experience of over 35 years and has published many cryo-EM related research in high-impact journals.  Syncretizing our cryo-EM expertise with access to high-end cryo-EM  equipment, Biortus is aspired  to becoming the pioneering CROs in  providing high resolution cryo-EM structures for our clients.
